Parent's Perspective

My name is Charlene Battle and I have been a proud member of Word Tabernacle for the past 11 years . The teaching, ministries, and fellowship are top notch. I am especially excited about the youth ministry run by Minister Kyle Johnson. He was definitely born to mentor, guide and develop the youth. My son Jatavias has grown spiritually and continues to develop into an awesome young man. At times when I get home from work on Tuesday and don’t want to go back out, Jay would say, “Mom, we going to Bible Study right?” How can any person deny a child wanting to go to church?There are so many youth activities provided by the church, Jay wants to be a part of them all. Due to his commitment and willingness to participate in church activities, Jay was asked to join the Youth Disciple Program which requires additional commitment and accountability. He accepted the role and continues to show growth and leadership skills. I can truly say that being a part of Word Tabernacle Church family has been nothing but a blessing for both of my sons. Although Ja’Juan is away at college, the conversation we have let me know that he has a strong biblical foundation instilled in him. Jay continues to shine in school and socially. Because he understands the importance of serving in church, he often assist in my Sunday rotation of serving in the nursery.

Although Jay is an active kid that never meets a stranger. The leadership skills that he is developing can only add to his growth as a person and I’m certain this is one of many reasons he participates in the prayer group at school. I would definitely recommend plugging into any youth activity.
